Audi History:
Audi’s history can be traced back to, August Horch. Horch produced his first automobile in 1901 and was forced out of the company he founded in 1909.Even though he continued with his horch brand in Zwickau; he was again forced to drop the name by a German court due to trademark infringement. This is when he called a meeting and came up with the Audi name. Audi originally started with a 2612 cc (2.6 liter) four cylinder model and followed this with a 3564 cc (3.6 L) model, 4680 cc (4.7 L) and 5720 cc (5.7L) models. Jorgen Rasmussen bought the company in 1920 after August Horch left the company. Audi company then merged with three other companies; Horch, DKW and Wanderer to from the Auto Union. The Auto Union then produced the Sd-Kfz 222 armored for the German army. This car was used in the Second World War. The four ring logo of Audi also signifies this Union. However, the Auto Union plants were destroyed during the Second World War and the company disintegrated. Daimler-Benz bought an 87% stake in Auto Union in 1958 and completed the rest a year later. In 1964 Volkswagen bought the factory in Ingolstadt and the brands of the Auto Union and introduced the four stroke engines. The Auto Union then used the Audi brand as a model Designation. In 1969, Auto Union merged with NSU to form the "Audi NSU Auto Union AG". Audi then emerged as a separate brand. The first car under this union was the “Audi 100”.In 1985,the company shortened its name to “Audi AG” after the Auto Union and the NSU brands collapsed. Through the years, Audi has been a player in the automobiles market.

This makes Audi Vehicles lighter than the steel-bodied cars thus Audi cars have better acceleration, handling and fuel consumption, minimal noise, vibration and harshness.
